Shida takes on the world.
Last Show at a Fixed address; Nine Lives to Close
We've decided the old full time gallery front just ain't for us anymore. There will be a few project based exhibitions in the coming months to look out for but for now, we're playing host to one final show in the current space.
It's with our tea drinking, profanity loving English illustrator pal 'French' next week. That's fitting really, he was one of the first to show with us above Mellino's in late 2008 and now he's helping us see out this space with a bang.
-------------------
FRENCH (UK)
- a collection of new prints, a zine and more.
Opens Thursday Jan 19 - continues until Jan 22.
Opening night from 6pm.
Proudly supported by The Outpost, Earl Grey, Tyms Guitars, Pass Port and Small House Books.
-------------------
Want to take this opportunity to thank you all for the ongoing support over the last few years. We're very happy that we've been able to contribute to ol' Brisbane towns cultural landscape in some way or shape. For a long time this city's been seen as the little sibling to its southern counterparts but we really do think that is changing. Brisbane has plenty going on and there's a bunch of young creatives making that happen.
Come along Thursday, have a beer. We'd love to see you.

Andrea Galvani
Born in Italy, 1973. Now Living in New York. Andrea Galvani is definitely taking his art seriously. His latest project
blurs the boundary between art, science and extreme adventuring, with
the award-winning artist and crew of 18 embarking on an Arctic voyage
armed with a high-power torch and sound equipment. More info and works HERE
Freunde von Freunden visits Karen & Christian Boros
Seems like everyone has amazing apartments in Berlin. Hoping my friends' Hoshi and Poppi's new apartment evolves into something amazing too.
Benoit Aquin
For twenty years, Benoit Aquin has travelled widely, determined to
construct a global project. From initial forays into the Caribbean in
the late 1980s (notably Haiti, where he focused on the practice of
voodoo, a project that he would extend over the next five years),
through photographing the banana plantations of Nicaragua, to recording
the drastic effects of climate change in northern Quebec, Aquin’s work
has always been characterized by a deep concern with the environment and
humankind’s increasingly devastating impact on it. (SOURCE)
A photographer who seeks out the places most of us have never been to and probably would avoid for our comfortable lives. Purely captivating images from around the world that are nothing but real and true. Check out his folio of works HERE

All Things Lost - Mark Alsweiler and Max Berry.
Its been a couple of weeks between drinks but next next Thursday the 24th sees the opening of All Things Lost , new works by two Sydney based artists Max Berry and Mark Alsweiler. After Mark's successful show with us last year and Max's feature in several group shows we've hosted, its a perfect time to showcase these new pieces before we see out the year.

Max depicts meditative landscapes and seemingly vulnerable figures, whose calm isolation prompts the viewer to consider the relationship between the actual and the spiritual, agency and fate and the narrative in which they may co-exist.

Mark reflects more of an affinity with the imagery of yesteryear, letting that form the basis of his work. His instantly recognizable acrylic paintings and wooden sculptures often involve themes revolving around a world of contrast.

Show opens Thursday November 24 at 6pm and continues until December 11.
